April is Community Development Month, and the City of Kettering is celebrating 50 years of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The CDBG program supports community development activities that build stronger, more resilient communities. To mark this monumental achievement, local entitlement communities are publicizing celebratory materials, being recognized with proclamations, presenting project highlights and hosting events during the month of April.

The Cities of Dayton and Kettering, in partnership with Montgomery County, will celebrate Community Development Month with an outdoor celebration and resource fair on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Dayton Bike Yard (1437 S. Edwin C. Moses Blvd.). The event will include demonstrations by local bike enthusiasts, project information to highlight the variety of transformative projects funded with CDBG throughout the Miami Valley, a resource fair to allow our grant-funded partners an opportunity for community outreach, food trucks and live music to celebrate the transformative power of federal grants like CDBG in our community.
