Code Red Emergency Incident & Community Alerts
Did you know that the City of Kettering uses a system called Code Red to notify our residents of emergency incidents and critical community alerts? Examples include: construction updates, service notifications, public safety alerts, boil water notices, and missing person reports.
Please take a moment to click the link below or text the word KETTERING to 99411 and add your information to our emergency call database. The secure, customized Community Notification Enrollment (CNE) page allows residents and businesses to add or update their contact information to ensure they will be included when a message is sent – unlisted numbers, mobile numbers, TDD/TTY requirements can all be entered.
Severe Weather Notification
The CodeRED emergency alert system now includes severe weather notifications from the National Weather Service.
How CodeRED Works
CodeRED is a fast communication tool for emergency notification. When there is an emergency, the City determines which neighborhoods or areas are affected and creates a recorded message that describes the emergency and provides directions to the public. After the message is confirmed, the high-speed dialer delivers the message at a rate of 50,000 calls an hour to a live person or an answering machine, making three attempts to connect to any number.
