How do I schedule a bulk trash pick up?

Residents do not need to contact Rumpke to schedule bulk pick up.  Rumpke will collect up to three bulk items each week without notification or scheduling, however, if you are unsure if your bulk item(s) require special disposal methods to ensure they are picked-up, please call Rumpke at 1-800-828-8171.  Please keep in mind some of the following guidelines below when placing bulk items:

  • Bulk items include extra trash bags, appliances, mattresses, box springs, sofas, large furniture items, bundled yard brush, etc.
  • Upholstered items including sofas, mattresses, box springs, dining chairs, etc. must be completely wrapped on all sides in a sealable plastic.
    • Items not completely sealed will not be serviced as they pose a health and safety hazard.
  • Residents may set out additional trash bags as part of the bulk program.
    • Each bag left outside of the Rumpke issued cart will be recognized as one bulk item.
    • Bags no longer have to be Rumpke specific overage bags, but should be standard plastic with a capacity not to exceed 35 gallons.
  • Non-Rumpke receptacles containing bagged waste will not be considered a bulk item and will not be serviced.
    • Additional Rumpke carts are available for $12.00/quarter ($4.00/month).
  • Appliances containing Freon such as refrigerators, freezers, water coolers, etc., require special handling.
    • Freon removal is required prior to pick-up and a certificate of removal must be attached to the appliance.
  • Items larger than four feet in width need to be cut in half or dismantled in order to fit in the truck.
  • Bundled yard brush must be secured with twine or similar material and must not be longer than four feet in length.
