When will mulch and compost be available?

Mulch and compost are usually available sometime in mid-April at Indian Riffle Park on Stroop Rd. Both are available free of charge to residents on a first come, first served basis and is restocked every Thursday and Friday during the season.  Please bring proof of Kettering residency.

What are the yard debris center hours?

Starting January 14, Saturday hours will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. except in icy and snowy weather. Beginning March 6, the yard debris center is open Monday – Friday 3:00pm – 8:00pm and Saturdays from 9:00am – 3:00pm beginning in March and through the first week of December.  

What do I do with my yard waste?

Yard waste may be put in your regular Rumpke trash cart, or you may drop it off at the City’s Yard Debris Center located at 1840 Woodman Center Drive. When will my leaves be collected?

The city is divided in to districts and crews work through the districts in numerical order for several rounds.  Our recommendation is that you begin raking leaves as soon as they begin to fall and keep raking as needed throughout the fall until the program end date, which is typically the first weekend in December.  … Continued

What do I do if I have an argument or issue with my neighbor?

Neighbor disputes are a civil matter.  If the matter cannot be handled civilly between the two parties you have the right to hire a mediator or an attorney at your cost.  If at any time you feel you are being physically threatened by another person please call the Kettering Police Department.

How do I find my property lines?

The Planning & Development Department can give you a copy of your lot dimensions. To determine the exact location of property lines a property survey would need to be conducted at the property owner’s expense.

Does the City have any homeowner assistance programs?

The City of Kettering offers an outstanding Housing Rehabilitation Program.  This program provides low-interest loans to income eligible homeowners to make needed repairs to their Kettering home. This program also provides deferred loans for qualified elderly and disabled. Our Community Development Department manages these programs.
